Director of Programs Wins Albert Einstein Fellowship

The Egyptian Union of Liberal Youth (EULY) is pleased to announce that Amr Bargisi, Euly's Director of Programs, has been awarded the 2011 ALbert Einstein Fellowship offered by the Einstein Forum and the Daimler and Benz Foundation. The purpose of the fellowship is to support those who, in addition to producing extraordinary work in their area of specialization, are also open to other, interdisciplinary approaches – following the example set by Albert Einstein. The fellowship includes living accommodations for five to six months in the gardener`s cottage of Einstein`s own summerhouse in Caputh, Brandenburg.

Amr's project for the fellowship consists of a comparative study of a few moments of intellectual history where Divine Right and Natural Right came at odds, keeping in consideration the current debate in Egypt about the role of religion in politics and the potential for a Liberal Democracy.
